My Thoughts:

Growing up less than 5 miles from the stadium, my father took me to Pop Keeney on almost a weekly basis as a child. When I decided to do this tour of stadiums, Pop Keeney was the obvious choice to be my first. While playing football for Juanita in 2000, I played my first game at Pop Keeney and had probably never been so nervous in my life. Before the renovations in 2010, the locker rooms were rather far from the field. The walk from the locker room to the field is something I will never forget, unfortunately I can't say the same about the game.

This stadium is nothing special in terms of the look. The visitor side may actually be nicer than the home side. The locker rooms were moved to the north and south side of the visitor stands. One concession stand can make for long lines and the food is average for what you get at a high school game. Personally I always make sure to get to Bothell early so I can eat at the Ranch Drive In before the lines get long. For more information, scroll down to Links and click on Ranch Drive In.

Earlier this year I was at my first "Spaghetti Bowl" between Bothell and Inglemoor, since renovations. Both sides of the stadium were full and the stadium was absolutely rocking and the game did not disappoint. When full, there isn't a better stadium for high school football in our state. Weather it is the blue of the Cougars, yellow of the Vikings or the green of the Falcons, I can't think of a place I would rather be than at Pop Keeney Stadium on a Friday night during football season.

This Friday I am heading over to Spokane for the Seattle Thunderbirds hockey game. On our way I hope to see Ellensburgh, Kittitas, Moses Lake and Joe Albi Stadium (Spokane). Check the Facebook page this weekend for any pictures I take.
